Practice Areas : Real Estate, Zoning and Land Use
Real estate law is of considerable importance in the New York area. The fact that there are numerous municipalities in New York (villages, towns, counties and special districts), requires a key knowledge of land use, and planning and zoning as an essential ingredient to a successful real estate practice.
RP&R’s attorneys regularly appear before numerous municipal boards with respect to land use and zoning, and have prosecuted and defended Article 78 Proceedings to review the municipality’s determinations.
One of our partners was Chairman of a Board of Zoning & Appeals, and the Senior Counsel to our Firm, a retired New York State Acting Supreme Court Justice, has a long history both on the bench and in prior private practice, in complex real estate development matters, such as shopping center, office and industrial leasing arrangements.
We represent municipalities, real estate developers, large land owners, shopping center managers, and real estate operator/owners in a wide variety of real estate transactions, as well as in litigation to protect these interests.
