When St. John’s University School of Law launched an advanced program entitled, “Complex Litigation,” the school’s Dean Emeritus invited David H. Peirez to speak to second and third year law students about complex litigation issues such as: class action suits, multi-party litigation and cases where complex issues of law arise.

Mr. Peirez’s comments were designed to acquaint students with how an attorney represents clients in such matters. He explained to the students that Complex litigation concerns a court or judicial case which combines involved issues and numerous parties with a  variety of legal positions staked out in a single case. Among the types of complex litigation he discussed with the students: class action suits, multiparty hazardous waste cases, and anti-trust cases; and the issues which arise, such as insurance coverage, expert testimony and joint defense agreements.
