East Northport resident Michael J. Angelo, a partner at Reisman Peirez Reisman & Capobianco in Garden City, has been named to the New York Super Lawyers Family Law list as one of the top attorneys in New York for 2014. No more than 5 percent of the lawyers in the state are recognized by Super Lawyers for this recognition.

Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters business, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The annual selections are made using a rigorous multi-phased process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates, and peer reviews by practice area.

He is considered a leader in the field as he also is a trained divorce mediator and was appointed to serve as a Special Master in the Nassau County Matrimonial Special Masters Program. Angelo lectures frequently on various aspects of matrimonial litigation to both community and professional organizations. A graduate of Hofstra University’s Law School, Angelo has been practicing law in New York since 1983. He served as a trustee on the Half Hollow Hills Board of Education, while a resident of Dix Hills.
