Ms. Gianakos has practiced exclusively in matrimonial and family law for the past 25 year representing high profile, business and professionals in domestic relations matters in the greater New York metropolitan areas. She is an AV Preeminent rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell and named a New York Super Lawyer each year since 2013 and is one of the first recipients of the Hon.Gail A. Prudente Outstanding Women in the Law Award (2016). She is admitted to practice in state courts in CT(1981), NJ(1992)and NY(1993); US District Courts of CT(1982), NJ (1992) and NY (1999) and the U.S. Supreme Court (1999). She is a member of the New York State and Nassau County Bar Associations for whom she served on the Board of Directors (2011-2014) and currently is a member of the Matrimonial and Family Law Committees and Advisory Board of the Academy of Law. She is a Master of the American Family Law Inns of Court and a member of the International Association of Collaborative Professionals as well as a founding member of the Long Island Business Advisory Counsel. She is the former chair of the NCBA Publications Committee and serves currently as the Matrimonial Focus Editor. She also served as a matrimonial mediator for the Nassau County Supreme Court and continues to mediate privately. She is a published author of numerous articles on family and matrimonial law in the NYSBA Family Law Review and the NCBA Nassau Lawyer and is a lecturer for the NYSBA and NCBA.

Ms. Gianakos earned a B.A. from the University of Hartford in 1978 and received her J.D. from Western New England College School of Law in 1981.
